Hello!

My name is Eric Balnar. I am the leading voice of baseball in Australia, a versatile writer, play-by-play game caller and media manager.

I currently broadcast games as a play-by-play announcer for:

- The Australian Baseball League
- The Adelaide Giants
- The Adelaide Adrenaline (Australian Ice Hockey League)
- South Australian Softball Premier League
- National Baseball / Softball Tournaments
- Local baseball

I am an award-winning broadcaster, calling games in Australia for 10 years. I bring an infectious passion, strong research and ability to add magnitude to little moments in a broadcast.

I am also a writer. Samples of my work can be found on this site.

My official full time position is as the Broadcast, Media & Content Manager for Baseball Australia. I am effectively the beat reporter and the front line of communications for Team Australia Baseball, Baseball.com.au, Baseball Australia and the Australian Baseball League.

From writing, social media, content, videos, traditional media, coverage and beyond, I give a voice to major Australian baseball stories.

Born and raised in Canada, I moved to Australia in 2014. I'm now an Australian citizen.

I'm an award winning broadcaster, calling games for audiences all around the world including on stations like on Fox Sports, NBC Regional Sports, AT&T SportsNet, Kayo, SBS, NITV, Channel 44, Channel 31, ondemand.baseball.com.au and other digital platforms.

I've also broadcast national hockey for Adelaide Adrenaline and the Australian Ice Hockey League and the Adelaide Avalanche of the PHL.

Outside of the broadcast booth, I live an active lifestyle filled with camping trips, hikes around the world, surfing, golf and salsa dancing.

I look forward to meeting you!
